A captivating shrub native to the Western Coast (California and into Oregon); blossoms either white to pink with a brushstroke of light yellow, and long, upturned stamens can be found April through early June. Its spicy-sweet scent creates a memorable aromatherapy moment - probably one of our most fragrant native plants.  The deciduous foliage emerges a fresh bright green alongside the flowers and turns shades of gold to red in the fall on a plant that can grow up to 15 feet tall.

Best grown in well-drained, cool, acidic soils. It's not picky about light exposure, but it will flower best in more light, the trade-off being it will struggle in full sun sites if the soil is too hot and dry. Think of its native habitat at riparian woodland edges and how to replicate it.

Carefully packed for each plant

Once your order is ready, we bring the plants from our greenhouses into a holding area. Each plant is wrapped by hand and, when needed, staked to protect tender stems. Because our inventory is so diverse, we adjust the packing method for each plant based on its size, type, and stage of growth.

We reuse clean paper and plastic packing materials whenever practical. It is easier on the planet and helps keep shipping costs down for you, too.

Choose your Monday ship date

At checkout, choose from the available Monday ship dates. We ship with UPS from Monmouth, Oregon, and you will receive an email with tracking information when your shipment is prepared or enters the UPS system.

Arrival times vary by destination and weather, so we cannot guarantee a specific delivery date or time.
