In late winter you will follow your nose to this earliest-blooming shrub to enjoy the sweet, sweet fragrance of the small white flowers — one of the very first harbingers of spring along with Viburnum 'Dawn' and Hamamelis. Glossy, narrow, dark green leaves on arching branches. Happiest in deep to part shade but adaptable to some sun with sufficient water. Birds will raid it for its small, black berries. Plant it near an entrance or beneath a bedroom! Disease-resistant.
Evergreen shrub; mature size: 4 – 5 ft tall and spreading to 4 ft wide,
Minimum temperature: -10° F
