Neither a strawberry nor a geranium, this Saxifraga does look a bit like a combination of the two. It is, in any case, very attractive: mat-forming with rounded, leathery silver-veined evergreen leaves and pinkish-red backsides. The 18 inch tall bloom stalks are aflutter with asymmetrically-'winged' white flowers. Excellent small groundcover for a potted specimen plant and a sure way to enrich and ornament the garden. Also adaptable as a houseplant.
