Reaching 8–15' tall and possibly as wide, this low-branching Himalayan Schefflera will astound you with its 3' glossy dark green compound leaves. Looking like it should stay in a tropical clime or inside your house, it nevertheless tolerates quite cold temperatures and has been happy in Western Oregon gardens. The new growth is coated with an attractive buff indumentum and the October bloom is a foot-long terminal compound panicle of fine, white fragrant flowers—a dramatic spray and a fine texture against the broad leaves.
