The most striking of its genus with a significantly larger flower than most Sisyrinchium. Short stems support large cup-shaped, rich yellow blooms, each with a reddish brown ring toward the center. Compact gray-green Iris-like foliage forms slow spreading evergreen clumps. Free blooming from late spring to late summer. Plant in full sun with well-drained soil.
