With its huge leaves, this is a must for the tropicalissimo. It spreads underground to slowly form a usually welcome colony. Give 'er space, folks! The tannish indumentum under the leaves makes some folks sneeze but it is visually very gratifying so what's a sneeze or two? In advantageous circumstances, it can grow to more than 15 feet tall and will be evergreen in climates that stay above 25º F.

Use caution when pruning this plant.  The pale fuzzy indumentum on the new growth and underside of leaves can be irritating to the respiratory tract when disturbed.
