Soft, fluffy umbels of deep purple spring from bronze-purple-green leaves and attract birds, butterflies, and people. The inky darkness of the flowers and stems is very striking. Bring it inside in colder areas to enjoy sporadic blooms in the winter. Blooms summer and fall with a little dead-heading.
Fun sun to half sun. Darker foliage with full sun. A well-drained soil of sand, coarse bark, and pumice have made ours quite happy in the border.
