Cobalt-blue flowers with speckled interiors and wildly reflexed stamens bloom from late summer until frost. The highly fragrant (some may say rancid green beans) leaves and square stems render this plant very deer-proof!
Yes, it appears this one is also a naming doozy! Sold by us previously as Trichostemma 'Blue Bonnets', it appears that it is technically a Tripora divaricata sometimes referred to also as Caryopteris nepalensis or Caryopteris divaricata--and unclear whether of Japanese or Himalayan descent. If it is a Caryopteris it is the only herbaceous one we know of.
