Long-lasting, dusky pink umbels bloom over many months under-girded by gray-green strappy leaves to 10 inches tall. And it's fragrant! Why is it not grown in more gardens? In a pot it makes a fine wintertime companion and continues to bloom if protected from cold. (Its namesake is Rijk Tulbagh, Dutch governor of the Cape of Good Hope in the 1700's. Encouraging exploration and botanical collecting, he sent consignments to Linnaeus.)
