In late spring/early summer, extravagantly long racemes make fragrant curtains, usually to 3 feet but has been seen to reach 6 feet in its native digs. Blooms are pinkish-purple and white. Can grow up to 100' feet long and develop strong and heavy trunks, it needs stout support. Trained up high, its trailing flowers can create an eye-level screen. Its lush, large, pinnate leaves turn yellow in fall on this vigorous vine, loved by bees and butterflies, and especially floriferous if in full sun.
