Rare! Native to southern China and Taiwan along moist forested hillsides or mossy, shaded cliffsides. An herbaceous perennial sure to win your heart with mystical, glowing blooms and a delightful fragrance. Pale green, lance-shaped evergreen leaves in rosettes form expanding clumps. Cream-white flowers with bright blue anthers on 10-inch stems; vanilla-scented! Showy, red calyces persist after bloom. It's reported to thrive despite clay soils (if moist) or heavy shade. Staff favorite!
