Flowers spring through summer with up to 4-inch-wide, periwinkle, aster-like flowers. Additional blooms are encouraged by deadheading. Basal rosettes of lush green lanceolate leaves with smaller-leaved stalks can be evergreen in climates with a warmer winter.
Easy to grow as long as there is good drainage in winter, established plants can tolerate some drought but generally prefer moisture (found in wet sandy meadows, lowlands, and ditches in its native range!) Happy to grow in a container.
