A low-growing perennial with many-flowered purple spikes and overlapping hairy bracts. Blooms early-late summer. Favorite of bumble bees and butterflies. Native throughout North America. Appreciates soil rich in organic matter in full sun to partial shade. Requires some summer water for repeat blooms.
