Single ray flowers in glowing shades of saturated blue bloom in March on a backdrop of lacy leaves. They make an attractive, light ground cover or a lively mixer with other early bloomers. Not really appreciative of wind, contrary to the name.

NOTE: These are SUMMER DORMANT bulbs; they dry up and go "to sleep" after they bloom in spring. Other examples of summer dormant bulbs are Tulips and Daffodils. Do not be alarmed when they disappear with the onset of warm weather days--given proper conditions, they will be back bigger & better the next spring.

Perennial tubers; mature size: 4 inches tall and slowly naturalizing.

Minimum temperature: -20° F
