One of the most handsome of the hairy Del Norte manzanitas we have ever been lucky enough to behold, found as a seedling following one of the California fires.
Del Norte manzanitas are one of the hairiest species of Arctostaphylos. Their young foliage is gray-blue, and it deepens to gray-green with years of age. 'Silver Cup' was selected from a large group of A. nortensis for its luminous new growth, and it holds its foliage further from the stem, allowing for more airflow, which helps limit winter spotting, common to the fuzzier manzanitas.
