A new introduction. Sharply pointed, silver blue-green leaves that are three times as long as wide. Slightly hairy stems. Reliably presents unblemished foliage. Handsome, rounded growth habit.
From our November 2016 collection trip near Milo, OR. 'Tiller Azul' was selected along the Tiller Trail Highway that follows the South Umpqua River east of Canyonville, Oregon. The two main groups of columbiana found in Oregon are somewhat divided in terms of habit and temperament. The southern and coastal columbiana tend to be smaller and more water-tolerant than the Northern and eastern columbiana.
Mature size: possibly 6-7 feet tall & wide, though more observation is required to be sure.
Minimum temperature: 10° F
Not recommended for hot and humid climates.
