Showy, long, narrow, creamy-yellow spathe with deep golden-yellow spadix shoots up mid to late spring on multiple stems. Summer dormant. From Greece and Turkey. Keep in mind that alkaline soil is its preference.
NOTE: These are SUMMER DORMANT plants; they dry up and go "to sleep" after they bloom in spring. Other examples of summer dormant plants are Tulips and Daffodils. Do not be alarmed when they disappear with the onset of warm weather days--given proper conditions, they will be back the next spring.
