A beautyberry with a stable variegation pattern! 'Duet' emerges in the spring with bright green leaves charmingly edged in buttery yellow before aging to ivory, or to keep with a culinary motif, mascarpone. The shrub has an upright, rounded form. White blooms on the new wood in mid-summer, followed by white fruit that cling to the bush until late fall. The fruit is an acceptable offering to your local wildlife.

Best grown in our Western hot, dry summers with regular water and protection from hot afternoon sun. Everyone with summer rain, this plant can take full sun to part shade and dry to moist soil. Best to prune annually in late winter for more flowers and berries.

Mature size: 3-5 ft T x 4-6 ft W

Minimum temperature: -10° F

Notes for Hort-heads: 'Duet' was found as a lucky branch sport of C. dichotoma var. albifructus growing at Tennessee Technological University. Trialed and introduced by the US National Arboretum.
