Charming species with burgundy hanging bells along foliage that is a deeper green than seen in most Clematis. Best grown in rich soil in part sun with summer water. Prefers to have its roots not overly wet during the winter months.
Group 1: blooms on last season's growth, best pruned immediately after flowering but not required every season.
