This vine blooms late spring into summer with delightful rich pink urn-shaped flowers that have thick, tightly recurving petals - the type you drew when you were inventing fanciful fairy flowers as a 10-year-old. But these are marvelously real! Leave the spent flowers and enjoy the fanciful seed heads. Native to the Eastern United States.
Please be aware this plant is an herbaceous perennial. Smaller plants begin to go dormant in late summer; a new vine will then grow the following spring. As the plant's root size increases and becomes more vigorous the subsequent seasonal growth will be larger and persist later into the season.
THESE PLANTS SHIP WHEN DORMANT. Expect this season's growth to be cut back to close above the soil, the pot will be fully rooted in. Plant out and enjoy next season.
