Spectacular snowy drifts of white flowers bloom in June on this vase-shaped tree! Visitors see it and want it—a snowy peak of blooms! This disease-resistant Cornus kousa, with the typical pointed cream-colored bracts, is a selection made in the late 1980's by nursery co-owner, Leonard Foltz, from 2000 field-grown seedlings while working at Running Horse Nursery in Canby, Oregon. It is named after Snow Peak, a lookout in the Oregon Cascades that was the location of many memorable family jeep outings in the 1960's and 1970's.
