Greek for "wool-bearing," this Eriophorum is native to the Cascade Mountains and thrives in moist soil. Its downy-tufted white spikes are at home near the water and it will get very sulky if put in a dry situation. Evergreen; 10 inches tall and spreading; blooms April–June.
