Gesneriad with large white/cream tubular flowers with deep, bright magenta veining through the inside of the flower. It spreads via rhizome to form a colony of tropical-looking foliage, and flowers in mid-fall. In our dry summers, this plant taps out at about 2 ft tall, even with all the love and attention we can give; in areas with summer rain and humidity, it can reach heights of up to 4 ft.
They grow best in bright, indirect light with even moisture and good drainage. It's a good idea to situate this one with a good mulch layer through the winter for added protection.
