Small, dark green shiny leaves with springtime clusters of sweetly perfumed white flowers are an elegant and classic combination. It's slower growing than Osmanthus burkwoodii, which is sometimes just what you want, especially if you are putting it in a pot. Attractive also as an espalier, or an evergreen, dense, pretty, and fragrant hedge in time. Have patience. (It's a virtue well-rewarded.) Native to southern China. 6' x 6' unless pruning, in which case, prune in late spring or early summer as it blooms on old wood.
Minimum temperature: 0° F
