Upright, square stems lined with deep green, toothed leaves give rise to spikes of tubular, lavender-blue, slightly fuzzy flowers in mid to late summer.
This shrubby perennial is native to the eastern and central United States and inhabits a wide range of habitats. From dry to moist, sun to shade, clay to sand, this tough-but-pretty perennial will usually make itself at home.
Mature size: 2-3 feet tall & 1-2+ feet wide, colonizing via rhizomes.
