A beautiful native evergreen coniferous tree from the upper elevations of the Cascades: sculptural, short-needled. This blue-green sentinel spire of the subalpine skyline is built for snow and ice: stiff branches with drooping tips dump the snow load. The cones are smaller than other species of Hemlock, resembling small spruce cones, and are a beautiful dark purple when immature and a rich red-brown when mature. This is a rare offering. Make it your legacy.
Mature size: eventually 60 – 130 feet tall but don't hold your breath (it's a verrrry slow grower)
