A distinctive plant from the Cape of South Africa, with semi-evergreen broad, thick, waxy leaves. The pendent, tubular salmon-pink florets bloom in early summer and attract hummingbirds but, thankfully, not deer! Hailing from clay and shale soils, you'll find this plant tolerant of many tough conditions and an easy and rewarding plant to grow. Summertime water is in order since their native locale has summer rain, and often also marshy conditions. Our garden specimen is 5'+ tall x 2' wide in 8 years.
