Over blue-green, finely cut ferny leaves bloom brilliant scarlet flowers with velvety black stamens. These riveting blooms last about four weeks in early spring! Much sought after and difficult to find, this is your chance to put this striking natural hybrid from the South of France in your own garden. Well-draining soil will encourage a healthy plant and naturalization.
NOTE: These are SUMMER DORMANT plants; they dry up and go "to sleep" after they bloom in spring. Other examples of summer dormant plants are Tulips and Daffodils. Do not be alarmed when they disappear with the onset of warm weather days--given proper conditions, they will be back the next spring, bigger and better than before.
