Myriads of tiny white flowers burst into a blizzard of bloom in late summer. Their woody stems creep along the ground from the central crown to form a fine, feathery mound that is dense enough to suppress weeds. Effective in the rockery or as a ground cover in sharply draining soil. When flowers turn brown they can simply be brushed off.

We cut ours in winter, and we watch in anticipation every summer as it creeps back over our rocks. It's an amazing perennial that you might hear before you see, as the bees COVER the plant while it's in bloom. This species in particular is one of the most visited by pollinators. A highlight of the early September garden.
