This northern California resident blooms early through mid-autumn. Vermillion-orange trumpets and silver-green leaves dazzle everyone, especially hummingbirds. Whew! It takes my breath away! (Named in honor of the Mattole Native Americans of Humboldt Co., Northern California.)
