From midsummer into fall, violet-purple-lavender flower clusters top 3–5' tall architectural, branching stems. Bees and butterflies love these flowers and finches enjoy the seeds of this fairly modest self-seeder. A fine, tall element in a striking flower arrangement or scattered throughout the sunny dry garden or in a field, it's a very long-blooming plant, easy almost to a fault, tough, and gratifying.
