An often deciduous shrub (fall color can be orange-red to burgundy), 'Mohawk' can at times be evergreen 0º F and above. Deep pink-red buds become large fragrant umbels of small white florets, pink on the reverse, blooming in April. Butterflies will be very pleased! The shrub is densely branched, with 4" long glossy dark green leaves, a perfect foil for the white flowers whose spicy fragrance is ambrosia.
