Native to woodland margins in Europe this compact Euphorbia is useful as a weed smothering groundcover in dry shade conditions. The dark burgundy red foliage provides a dramatic backdrop to the acid-yellow spring blooms. Be mindful of the sap when pruning this plant as it can be irritating to the skin.
