Open suckering shrub with pinnate bright green holly-like leaves. Easy care: it makes a great evergreen addition to a hedge or screen. Clusters of sulfur-yellow flowers in spring turn to blue-gray fruit by fall. The bloom clusters are an essential early-bloomer for pollinators. The birds love the berries and we're told they make a good jam, too (though we have yet to try it...so please research this on your own!)
