A great selection of the popular balkan perennial. Dozens of purple-hooded, white-lipped flowers decorate architectural, columnar bloom spikes from spring to end of summer. Otherwise forming a clump or mat of spiky, happy, pest resistant foliage in rosettes. In the wild, Acanthus hungaricus grows in dry, rocky clearings, but in the garden, it can be quite happy with rich, well-drained soil–so happy it may be difficult to get rid of once established, so plant accordingly.
