Many of us Garrya lovers are simply running out of space for the amazing Western native shrubs, Garrya buxifolia is the answer to many a small garden's prayers. It's a dwarf silktassel!! It grows much more upright than its relatives and usually caps out at 6 ft T.
Grows best in full sun or part shade. Our plant is growing happily on one of our dry garden manzanita mounds in full sun.
We would love more information about its hardiness from anyone who has trialed it at a lower temperature. Our plant is only four years old and behaved so well through our winter storms and some sustained low temperatures.
