Arctostaphylos nummularia [serrated leaf form], Fort Bragg or Glossy Leaf Manzanita

From Tilden Botanical Garden comes this faster-growing, serrated-leaf form of the ever-lovely Arctostaphylos nummularia. This form retains the small, rounded, glossy leaves,  compact form, and the illuminated new growth that stands out against the mature dark green.  This species is also more shade-friendly than many manzanita species and can grow beautifully in dappled shade. 

We also grow the Arctostaphylos nummularia [select form], which is a denser shrub, but it takes at least 7 years to develop. 

Mature size: 1.5-3 ft T x 3 ft W

Minimum temperature: 5º F

Not recommended for hot and humid climates.
