From the Western U. S., this is a woody vine up to 20' long. Wide oval soft green leaves are the perfect foil for the various delicious oranges in these springtime clusters of tubular flowers. There are about 20 flowers per cluster occurring at the branch tips and followed by red-orange berries. When planting, take your cue from the north-facing slopes and creek-sides it calls home. Part sun will be ideal and regular water, though it will tolerate dry soil. Give it some support (physical) or it will crawl around on the ground - so sad. Native!
Minimum temperature: -20° F
