The common camas is a North American native with a range stretching from British Columbia to California and East to Montana, Wyoming, and Nevada. They have stalks of flowering racemes in shades of blue to indigo in mid spring. Naturalizes politely.
Camas require moisture in springtime, but drought conditions are acceptable after flowering when the bulb is going dormant. This wetland native blooms in the gap between Daffodils and Tulips and would love to live pond- or stream-side, or in a moist depression that dries as summer progresses.
