Compact and carpet-forming, with narrow leaves and single white blooms in spring. Anemones prefer winter-wet and can tolerate summer-dry once the plants are dormant. Please note the rhizomes of Wood Anemones root later in spring and may be shipped before plants are rooted-in.
NOTE: These are SUMMER DORMANT plants; they dry up and go "to sleep" after they bloom in spring. Other examples of summer dormant plants are Tulips and Daffodils. Do not be alarmed when they disappear with the onset of warm weather days--given proper conditions, they will be back the next spring, bigger and better than before.
