'Ken Taylor' grows into a fairly dense evergreen structure. In the Willamette Valley, Ken can do full sun but is amenable to some shade throughout the day, contrary to what one might think for a manzanita. On the coast, full sun all day is excellent, having originally been a coastal resident of the Monterey Bay area. Do not let its coastal origins frighten you, this plant takes hot sun and no supplemental water after its first year or two.
