A tidy and dense mound of gold is studded in spring with vibrant new red-orange leaves. Profuse clusters of small, fuzzy bright pink flowers follow in early summer and may repeat if the old flowers are removed. Fall color is a rich russet. Cut the entire shrub back to 6 or 8 inches every three or four years in early spring to maintain its dwarf, dense nature.
