The narrow columnar shape of this evergreen is useful for flanking an entrance or for demarcating the intersection of garden paths. A cross between T. baccata and T.  cuspidata this species cross helps provide greater winter hardiness.  The jade-green, needle-like leaves densely form along the stems.
