A must for anyone excited about the ornamental attributes of exfoliating bark: Layers of copper "paper" curl away from the trunk creating one of the most interesting and entertaining trunks you'll ever see. Branching is muscular and stout, making a stiff form with an eventually round-headed crown. The leaves are lobed and trifoliate, and the fall color a brilliant glowing orange and red - nothing dull here. This is one provocative small tree!

These trees have fast vertical growth. In order to continue shipping these plants, we trim the top. When new growth emerges, choose a new leader.

Carefully packed for each plant

Once your order is ready, we bring the plants from our greenhouses into a holding area. Each plant is wrapped by hand and, when needed, staked to protect tender stems. Because our inventory is so diverse, we adjust the packing method for each plant based on its size, type, and stage of growth.

We reuse clean paper and plastic packing materials whenever practical. It is easier on the planet and helps keep shipping costs down for you, too.
