Allium ‘Ostara’ is a cross between Allium karataviense and Allium atropurpureum combining the best qualities of each parent. Reddish-purple globes hover around a foot tall on stocky stems above broad leaves. Retains its foliage better than other allium while blooming. A sun-loving bulb blooming late spring-early summer and then summer dormant.
