Smaller, slower-growing manzanita endemic to the sandy chaparrals of Monterey County, California. Bright pink bell-shaped blooms in late winter to early spring. Throughout the seasons, it maintains red hues from the new growth.

From sandy soils, but has done well in our Willamette Valley clay up on a berm. Full sun is normally not recommended for the California coastal manzanitas this far inland, but further North, they do just fine in a baking site.
