This selection was chosen near Paradise, California in the Sierra Nevada mountain range from a large group of seedlings following the devastating 2018 fire. It has surprised us all by being the most upright growing manzanita we've planted to date. It has large broad green foliage, likely a A. mewukka species or hybrid. The foliage is more of a true green compared to the glaucous foliage seen in most of the other A. mewukka seedlings from the area. We planted out over three clones and all have had the columnar habit. Fast growing.
