Such lovely, impressionistic silver spears are perfect next to dark mahogany stems and clusters of light pink urn flowers; orange berries follow. A good grower, it's endemic to California, semi-coastal and coastal areas from just north of San Francisco to around Eureka. This evergreen shrub grows 4 ft by 4 ft and requires well-drained soil. 

In our experience, this is one of the most difficult manzanitas to get established, but it is worth the effort. So it's a plant for experienced gardeners used to trial and error who realize plants can die for no apparent reason at all. Thus, we do not offer refunds for this particular species, unless damaged during shipping.

Carefully packed for each plant

Once your order is ready, we bring the plants from our greenhouses into a holding area. Each plant is wrapped by hand and, when needed, staked to protect tender stems. Because our inventory is so diverse, we adjust the packing method for each plant based on its size, type, and stage of growth.

We reuse clean paper and plastic packing materials whenever practical. It is easier on the planet and helps keep shipping costs down for you, too.
