One of the most beautiful in form and flower of many seen over the years: a broadleaf evergreen shrub (as all Manzanitas), erect, often 3 ft or more tall, but known to reach over 13 ft where it is especially well-suited. New leaves emerge flaming red-orange and chartreuse, then become blue-grey when mature. Clusters of pink urn-shaped flowers appear in January and will persist for a month or more. Native to California's Central Coast, South San Francisco Bay Area (Pajaro Hills)—a Chaparral plant.Minimum temperature: 5° F
