One of the most beautiful in form and flower, 'Myrtle Wolf' is compact with particularly numerous bright pink flowers. New foliage turns flaming red-orange and chartreuse in the fall, then becomes blue-grey when mature. Native to California's Central Coast, South San Francisco Bay Area (Pajaro Hills) - a Chaparral plant.

Named by the former UC Botanical Garden director, Roger Raiche, for a lover of pink flowers, benefactor of the garden, and early member of the California Native Plant Society, Myrtle Wolf. The CNPS has a scholarship named in her honor for college students studying native plants. 

Our garden specimen was planted in November 2023.
