A shimmering sheen of downy white fur covers the leaves of this ingeniously named Arctostaphylos.  The foliage creates a striking contrast in the landscape and is one the palest of all the varieties we grow. Complimentary white urn-shaped flowers continue the theme and are a delight to foraging hummingbirds and bees. Native to the freely draining soils of the Santa Cruz mountains; tolerant of clay soils, with adequate drainage, and cooler winter temperatures. Prune young plants on non-woody stems to encourage sturdy side branching and to allow for airflow.

Once your order is ready, we bring the plants from our greenhouses into a holding area. Each plant is wrapped by hand and, when needed, staked to protect tender stems. Because our inventory is so diverse, we adjust the packing method for each plant based on its size, type, and stage of growth.

We reuse clean paper and plastic packing materials whenever practical. It is easier on the planet and helps keep shipping costs down for you, too.
