A shimmering sheen of downy white fur covers the leaves of this ingeniously named Arctostaphylos. The foliage creates a striking contrast in the landscape and is one the palest of all the varieties we grow. Complimentary white urn-shaped flowers continue the theme and are a delight to foraging hummingbirds and bees. Native to the freely draining soils of the Santa Cruz mountains; tolerant of clay soils, with adequate drainage, and cooler winter temperatures. Prune young plants to encourage sturdy side branching and to allow for airflow.
